Nuclear Information Service (NIS) starting May 2009.
NIS is a not-for-profit, independent information service, working to promote public awareness and foster debate on nuclear disarmament and related safety and environmental issues, particularly at the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) near Reading, Berkshire.

A flexible, dynamic, self-motivated person with a background in nuclear disarmament issues is needed to run NIS.
£18,000 - £21,000 pa depending on experience.

We are looking for someone with interest and commitment in the disarmament sector, offering experience in research, analysis, networking, press and parliamentary liaison on current UK nuclear weapons developments. You will have good presentational and computer skills, able to get your message across, liaise across a wide spectrum of organisations, institutions, local and national government, able to manage a small part-time staff and work independently, reporting to the NIS Board of Directors.
Location
The Southampton NIS office is moving to Reading in Spring 2009. There will be scope for some home-working.
