Environment Agency Response to MoD Planning Application to West Berkshire Council for a Dis/Assembly facility at AWE Burghfield. The Agency's response to the planning application is to offer no objection to the plan but to impose six Conditions

The Environment Agency say that AWE have assessed the impact of climate change in relation to the current planning policy on flood risk (PPS25). This requires them to assess increased rainfall intensity and peak river flows as a result of climate change. They have applied a 20% increase to levels expected in a 1 in 100 year rainfall event to give them an estimated climate change flood level and the scheme has been designed accordingly.
