A HELPLINE has been set up for families affected by the Atomic Weapons Establishment's body parts scandal.

British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) said it urged anyone with any concerns on the issue to contact them. The number is 01946 774017 and the line will be open today (Thursday)
and tomorrow (Friday) from 7am until midnight.

A statement from the BNFL said it welcomed the independent investigation
which was been announced by Secretary Trade Secretary Alistair Darling
yesterday. The statement added that BNFL would give the inquiry "our full support
and cooperation".

The Government launched an urgent inquiry after claims that organs were
taken without consent from former workers at AWE Aldermaston.
