In response to FOI request by Rob Evans, Defence Procurement Agency provided AWE’s response to MoD request for epidemiological studies report and site ground contamination analysis. 2 epidemiological studies in 1988 and 1998 were cited. Standardized mortality rate is significantly raised (5%) in the case of kidney cancer and pleural cancer in R/A workers. It was attributed to “chance”.
