John Ainslie’s Nuclear Archive in the National Library of Scotland

The National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh has accepted the entire Ainslie Archive of nuclear weapons research papers and reports as a special collection in its archives and manuscripts division. The archives of the eminent Scottish researcher, writer and campaigner comprise over 3000 documents, reports, press-cuttings, de-classified Cold War memos and many items of historical interest not available elsewhere.

Nuclear Information Service has completed a project to scan, categorise, label and upload all the documents to the archive section of our website. The work was funded thanks to grants including The Lansbury House Trust and Scottish CND as well as many individual donors who knew John and his work.
