Nuclear Information service was incorporated in August 2000 based in Southampton at the home of the founder, Di McDonald, a long-term Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp and Cruisewatch woman. She wanted to provide the kind of detailed information and research needed to campaign against nuclear weapons and support disarmament.
Di is a board member of NIS and regularly camps out at the monthly Aldermaston Women’s Peace Camp at the gates of Aldermaston Weapons Establishment (AWE) where the UKs nuclear warheads are designed, built and maintained.

In our 25 years we have researched, investigated, uncovered and published numerous reports on the UK nuclear weapons programme. We have contributed to House of Commons research briefings, webinars and seminars to parliamentarians, campaigners and the public. Our work has been widely covered by the mainstream and independent media. We provide nuclear disarmament campaign groups and parliamentarians with accurate research to support work towards a nuclear weapons free world.
We continue to research, investigate, uncover and report on the UK nuclear weapons programme supported by grants and individual donations. You can keep up with our work by joining our email list for occasional updates and support us by donating. Even small donations mount up so please consider a 25th birthday contribution!
